Gainesville, Fla. – Monday October 19, 2009

According to the Gatorzone.com, the official site of Florida athletics, Florida head volleyball coach Mary Wise announced Monday evening on her radio show that Florida and “three national volleyball powerhouses” — Penn State, Stanford and Texas — have agreed “in principle” to play each other in an annual tournament, starting in 2010 and continuing through 2013.
According to the release, the inaugural event would be held September 10-11 in Gainesville, Florida, at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center (shown in the video below) with the location to rotate among the other three schools in the following years.

Match times and a tournament name have yet to be announced.
