In August 2018, Rachel Muisenga — a 6-0 sophomore setter/RS at Benet Academy in Lisle, Illinois — announced her verbal commitment to the Penn State Women’s Volleyball program.  In 2018, she  helped lead Benet to a 36-6 record and a 3rd place finish in the Illinois Class 4A tournament.

Rachel plays for the Adversity Volleyball Club in the Chicago area (after previously playing for 1st Alliance Volleyball Club).  Adversity Volleyball is run by Kyle Masterson, a Penn State Men’s Volleyball alum who played for current Penn State Women’s Volleyball assistant coach Dennis Hohenshelt on the Penn State men’s team in the late 2000s before playing several years professionally overseas.  Rachel also has played for the Lions Juniors on the club circuit.

Rachel was named to the 2018 JVA Ultra Ankle Watch List 15s All National Team, which recognizes the 17 top JVA member club players in the nation graduating in 2021, and the 2018 PVB 15s Club All-American Second Team.
