Rich Kern, Pablo, and AVCA Agree: Penn State is #1

Both the Rich Kern poll and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll agree: Penn State is #1 in NCAA Division I women’s volleyball.  Pablo, a computer ranking maththingy (a technical term) also has Penn State #1. 

The Nittany Lions received 42 first place votes in the AVCA Poll, followed by Oregon and Washington, who tied for second.  Also from the B1G were #4 Nebraska, #10 Minnesota, #12 Purdue, #19 Ohio State, #21 Illinois, and #25 Michigan State.

Hancock Wins 4th B1G Weekly Award

Penn State’s 5-11 So. S Micha Hancock won her third Big Ten Setter of the Week award, after averaging 13.5 assists per set in Penn State’s 3-0 road wins over Wisconsin and Minnesota this past Friday and Saturday.   The Nittany Lions hit .386 for the weekend, as Penn State improved to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the B1G.
