Russ Rose and Blair Brown on the Weekend Wins

GoPSUSports.com has posted a nice interview with Blair Brown and Head Coach Russ Rose by Tony Mancuso.  Here’s a peek:

The Nittany Lions took the first two sets against Indiana cleanly, but had to fight their way back from an 18-13 deficit in the middle of the third set. The combination of seniors Blair Brown, Arielle Wilson and Alyssa D’Errico took it upon themselves to remind the 5,811 Penn State faithful just how able they were to come back from behind.Penn State went on a 12-4 run as Brown knocked down 5 kills, Scott with two kills, freshman Deja McClendon with a kill and Wilson recorded two blocks to win the set 25-22. The hot-handed seniors said that it was their job to take matters into their own hands, and to show their younger teammates how things need to be done.

“In situations like that you, know it’s the seniors who have to come through and kind of show the freshmen that we can come back in those situations,” said senior Blair Brown. “We’ve been working on it in practice and the big crowd helped a lot so it’s just, it’s kind of our job to help that out.”Brown put it simply when asked what really motivated her and her veteran teammates against their opponent.

“I mean we want to win every game,” said Brown.
